After working and playing together for a couple of years in study projects at the Prince Claus conservatory, the Jan-Eise Fokkema piano trio from Groningen was formed featuring Jeroen de Baat on acoustic bass and Julian Marciniak on drums. With a varied repertoire of arrangements and jazz pieces, this trio plays a mix of traditional swing, and straight music such as European jazz. While maintaining their enthusiasm to swing and delve deeply into the jazz tradition, they are always eager to explore new ideas and harmonies.
Having played together for some time, our quartet featuring Kees Krabben on saxophone is a nice extension of the trio. Also equipped with al large repertoire of famous jazz tunes and own arrangements, this quartet has become a full-fledged jazz band that provides extra colour to any special occassion.
